OK, if you've read a lot on this site, and you're still not convinced you want to try a natural method of breast augmentation, then you are probably still considering undergoing breast implant surgery, or mammoplasty augmentation.
There are a few things you want to look for in a plastic surgeon before you even want to consider going to them to dramatically alter a very near and dear part of your body - your breasts. Of course, probably the biggest concern to all of us is cost, or in other words how cheap or reasonable are the plastic surgeon's rates on the breast implant procedure? See our reviews of alternative products that can enhance breast size also.
This is where it gets tricky. You probably want to shy away form a surgeon who offers breast implants for something that is dramatically less than what the going rate is - currently about $5,000 for a pair of breast implants is the going rate, and it varies from area to area whether that price is jacked up or not.
The cost of breast implants may be $10,000 and upwards if you are going to a very prestigious doctor, say in Beverly Hills or Los Angeles, where breast augmentation are very common and they know peopl who can afford to live in these wealthy areas can afford higher costs for plastic surgery.
On the other hand, you have an area like a smaller suburb in Ohio or Iowa, and you'll probably find your rates are much closer to something you'd feel comfortable paying! It's not to say the cheapest is the worst, but hey, these are going to be inside your body for at least ten years, so you really should be rather picky when choosing a surgeon. That's your right!
How to Choose a Plastic Surgeon to Get the Breast Implants You Want
1.) Ask around. Even if you think no one would know, there's always "someone" who either has a friend or an acquaintance that has breast implants that they love, and a doctor that they love, even if they got something else done besides breast augmentation they can recommend someone who has a good bedside manner and is willing to work with you to get the desired outcome.
2.) Use your judgment during the consultation. Does this surgeon feel like they have your best interest at heart, and do you feel comfortable with them? Do they have a lot of before and after pictures either on their websites or in their office of breast implants they've performed on other patients. How do the breasts in the pictures look 2-3 years down the road? Good ? Bad ? This is where a little instinct, intuition and common sense comes in. Don't choose a doctor if you just don't feel right after meeting with them.
3.) Do your research! The world wide web is truly a godsend - USE IT! And use it to your advantage when trying to find the perfect fit for your breast implants. In this day and age of online forums, chat rooms and online reviews, chances are you can find someone, somewhere who's been to your doctor who'd be willing to share their experience with you.
4.) Find pictures of an actress or model with breasts that look like the ones you want to have. Take for example, you want your breasts to look like Carmen Electra's (who actually has breast implants). Find a picture of Carmen, preferably in a bikini or even nude, so that the surgeon can see how you want your implants to turn out.
Say you want implants that are high on your chest and very round, find a picture of a woman who fits that profile. Same thing goes if you want your breast implants to look more natural, and hang a little lower like natural breasts do, and be spaced on the chest like natural breasts. Find a picture, or even a before and after picture of another woman online that had breast implants and had the same desired outcome as what you want.
5.) Look up the doctor's profile online. The reason I keep saying "online" is because most reputable plastic surgeons have a decent and pretty informative website, complete with a history of their practice, their credentials, and many times, before and after pictures of their work and end results of implant patients.
6.) Make sure your doctor is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. This is very important!
7.) If you have to travel and have a few consultations to find the right surgeon, do it. Just because you live in Cincinnati Ohio, doesn't mean the surgeon that's right for you and your breasts is in Cincinnati. Check out other areas, like Columbus Ohio, and Cleveland. Isn't traveling an hour or even a few hours worth it for a lifetime of beautiful breasts - the ones you want!?
